Feature Request: MCP Server Integration for NoteDiscovery

Why an MCP Server for NoteDiscovery?

AI access to notes - Ask questions about notes, generate summaries, find related content, or create new notes directly from conversations.

Privacy-first - All processing runs locally. Data is not sent to external services unless you explicitly choose an LLM that requires it (we can also use a local model).

Offline-friendly - The MCP server runs locally and communicates with NoteDiscovery through its REST API.

Basically, the goal is to let AI tools use NoteDiscovery as a local knowledge source without accessing or modifying the underlying markdown files directly.

That is an interesting approach, not sure how well to integrate it, it kind of makes sense to have a separate server instead of on the same solution. I'll think about that as it seems an entirely new project for it, like having tools "find me all the notes that talk about [whatever]" or things like that, could be a possibility, but not sure how much time I'll have for that...

But at the same time in the same line of thought I have just released version 0.17 with support for api keys!

which I realized was something missing from an authentication point of view if you merely want to integrate with something else.

Please take a look and let me know your thoughts. There are also a couple other changes as well.

I have been playing a little bit with that and, as a person that does use MCPs myself, it looks like a very interesting thing to do, thanks for the suggestion @sudo-Harshk , something will be coming up shortly I think! 😉
